Episode Overview

Miriam Margolyes, Wayne Sleep, Bobby George, and Jan Leeming come together for an adventure in the lively city of Havana, Cuba, where life expectancy is impressive, food is limited, and travel is dominated by vintage 50s cars. The group is immediately captivated by the pink Cadillacs that greet them at the airport and spends their first evening learning to dance with the locals. As the week unfolds, Wayne visits a dance troupe and discovers that his classical background doesn't translate well to Cuban styles. However, he’s thrilled to be invited to join the annual Cuban carnival. Meanwhile, Miriam finds it challenging to cope without fast internet, though she does have her gin to keep her company. The most significant change occurs for Jan, who meets a Cuban man while swimming in the sea. Despite the language barrier, they decide to go on a date. As their trip comes to a close, the group gathers with their new friends, reflecting on life in this intriguing and rapidly evolving country.
