Ben Fogle: Lost Worlds (2022)

Episode Overview

Ben Fogle journeys to Slab City in California's Sonora Desert to discover a distinctive off-grid community that prides itself on being the "last free place in America." Known for its mysterious and lawless vibe, Slab City derives its name from the concrete slabs left behind after a World War II Marine training facility was dismantled. This one-square-mile desert enclave is a blend of artists' haven and a refuge for the homeless, featuring diverse neighborhoods such as Pirate Camp, the East Jesus art collective, and the LGBTQIA-friendly Flamingo Camp.
