Life Goes On (1989)

Episode Overview

Corky is eager to join Becca in the 9th grade, but Becca fears his presence might hinder her chances with Tyler Benchfield, the charming football star she likes. Corky aspires to be crowned King at the upcoming homecoming dance with Ron Lieberman by his side. When accusations of cheating arise against Corky, the truth reveals that he was wrongly accused. Tyler introduces the Thatchers to his brother Donny, who also has Down's Syndrome, prompting concerns about whether Corky should mainstream or attend a special-ed program, which the family can't afford. At a critical meeting with the principal, Corky impressively recites “The Raven” by Edgar Allan Poe, silencing any doubts about his abilities. In a subplot, Drew surprises Libby with a heart-shaped ring for her 40th birthday, despite their tight budget, while Paige decides to move back home.
